Murillo Weber – Multicultural Market Development Leader @ Turner Broadcasting.

Sandra Murillo Weber has joined Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s Turner Entertainment Networks, which includes TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, Turner South and Boomerang, to head outreach efforts to multicultural consumers, marketers and the creative community, it was announced by Mark Lazarus, president of Turner Entertainment Group.
In the newly created position of vice president of multicultural market development, Weber is charged with identifying new marketing opportunities within the Turner Entertainment Networks portfolio; working with respective network marketing groups to broaden their outreach; consulting with network original programming staffs on character and content diversity; and establishing systems for measuring efforts to connect with diverse audiences. Weber is based in Atlanta and reports to Lazarus.
“Creating a dedicated senior-level position focused on emerging audiences signals our understanding of and respect for the broader consumer base, and our conviction that our networks’ individual and collective appeal bridges demographics, geography and interests,” said Lazarus. “Sandra’s experience developing and managing strategic marketing outreach to African-American, Hispanic and Asian communities makes her a valuable partner to our marketing groups and an important voice in our ongoing internal discussions about the direction and priorities of our entertainment network businesses. We welcome her perspective and input.”
Weber joins TBS, Inc. from Comcast Spotlight in Miami, where she closed her 10-year tenure as director of ad sales for multicultural markets. At Comcast, she conceived and launched a grassroots Hispanic national project that evolved into the organization’s multicultural department. Earlier in her career, Weber was national sales manager for Hispanic markets with AT&T Media Services and an account executive with TCI Media Services.
