NBC Universal calls off sale of Telemundo Puerto Rico & KWHY-TV in Los Angeles.

NBC Universal executives have called off the sale of Telemundo Puerto Rico and KWHY-YV in Los Angeles. Industry insiders speculate that NBC Universal could not command the price they expected to generate for the sale of both stations due to a poor business climate in the USA and the Telemundo Puerto Rico’s high cost to sales ratios not traditionally present in US based media properties and the island’s economic forecast.

The sale of the stations was intended to offset the cost of NBC Universal purchase of the Oxygen Network.
