NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Chairman Urges Google CEO to Address YT Issues Impacting U.S. Hispanic Audiences
September 30, 2025

Given the ongoing carriage dispute between NBCUniversal and YouTube TV, Telemundo, a division of NBCUniversal, faces the possibility of being removed from the platform. This would deprive millions of Latino and Hispanic viewers of access to essential news, sports, and entertainment.
YouTube TV is threatening to drop both Telemundo and Univision, which would eliminate all Spanish-language broadcast content from its service. Telemundo is a cornerstone network for NBCUniversal, serving Spanish-speaking communities across the country and leading the industry in Spanish-language content. Despite Telemundo’s strong performance and cultural relevance, YouTube TV has so far refused to reach a fair agreement that reflects its value.
Luis Fernández, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo, has written directly to Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai urging reconsideration and underscoring that Telemundo’s content is a vital connection and trusted resource for Latino viewers nationwide.
