New Hoy Thursday Edition to Launch June 28th.

The Los Angeles Times Media Group’s Hoy Los Angeles announced it will expand to a Thursday-Saturday print schedule with a new Thursday edition focusing on lifestyle news for Spanish-language readers.

Set to debut June 28th and joining Hoy’s existing Friday publication and the weekend-focused Fin de Semana, coverage will include profiles of Latinos making news by creating a difference in their communities. In addition, entertainment, sports, food, home, health and business news will guide readers through Southern California’s vast landscape of information and activities.

“Recent statistics show that more than 50 percent of local Hispanics are Spanish-dominant and Hoy plays a crucial role in providing extensive editorial coverage tailored for Southern California,” said Hoy Los Angeles Editor, Reynaldo Mena.

Hoy Los Angeles’ print distribution will expand by 90,000 copies, for a total weekly circulation of 970,000 copies.

“We are thrilled that demand for Hoy allows us to expand our print portfolio,” said Hoy Los Angeles Publisher and General Manager, Roaldo Moran. “Combined with the recent launch of our new site, we are delivering advertisers a variety of ways to reach the important and influential Spanish-dominant audience that comprises much of Southern California.”
