New Yahoo! Telemundo Messenger.

Yahoo! Telemundo introduced a new Web-based version of its leading instant messaging service. With no download required, Yahoo! Telemundo Messenger for the Web (yahootelemundo.com/messenger) gives users the freedom to instant message (IM) from anywhere — work offices, Internet cafés, schools, airports — from any Internet-enabled computer. The service is ideal for travelers on the move, office workers with firewall constraints, and people in countries where personal PCs are not readily accessible. Already available in English on Yahoo.com (for the general U.S. market), the new Web-based Messenger is now available in Spanish on Yahoo! Telemundo, Yahoo! Mexico, and Yahoo! Argentina, and will continue to roll-out internationally.

“Yahoo! Telemundo Messenger for the Web now gives all users – from professionals and travelers to students and Internet café visitors – access to instant messaging via the Web, with no downloads or browser requirements,” said Jose Rivera Font, general manager, Yahoo! Hispanic Americas. “Staying connected to friends and family is of great importance to U.S Hispanics and we are committed to providing these users with top-quality IM tools that combine convenience and ease of use – in their language of preference – to create an all-around rewarding and engaging online experience,” added Peter Blacker, senior vice president, digital media, Telemundo Network Group.
