October 3, 2003
The New York Post announced that it is launching NYP Tempo, a new monthly feature for the Latino community which will be available beginning October 15th.
NYP Tempo will reflect the style and rhythm of Latin New York, in coverage which can be enjoyed by all Post readers. The new section will feature books, politics, news, sports, theatre, restaurants, music reviews, gossip and profiles of Hispanic movers and shakers – all infused with a unique Latin style.
“I don’t think there’s anything like this in New York, and honestly I don’t think there’s anything like this in the United States,” said Lachlan Murdoch, publisher of the New York Post. “NYP Tempo is just another example of the New York Post breaking new ground.”
“We are delighted to have someone as talented and accomplished as Sandra Guzmàn heading up this initiative,” said Col Allan, Editor in Chief of New York Post. “Like all of our features, this new section will distinguish itself as a must-read for all New Yorkers.”
Associate Editor of the New York Post, Sandra Guzmàn oversees NYP Tempo. She was previously the Editor-in-Chief of Latina Magazine and is the author of the critically acclaimed self-help book, The Latina’s Bible: The Nueva Latina’s Guide to Love, Family, Spirituality and La Vida. Prior to joining the Post, the Emmy-winning journalist served as Editor-in-Chief of soloella.com, and was also a producer for Fox 5’s morning show, Good Day New York.
“I’m thrilled to be editing such a visionary project,” said Ms. Guzmàn. “With this new feature, the New York Post will be covering fastest growing – and very important – segment of the city’s population.”
