NFL Announces Super Bowl XXXVIII Hispanic Programs.

The National Football League initiates many charitable and promotional activities as part of Super Bowl week. This year, as part of the overall Super Bowl XXXVIII roster of events and programs, the NFL will reach out to the Hispanic community in Houston to celebrate Hispanic culture and betterment.

In its second year, this initiative focuses on the promotion of Hispanic leadership, education, and culture through fan events, workshops and seminars, football clinics, education programs and financial support. The NFL will aim to reach fans of all levels of acculturation by featuring Spanish language and bi-lingual communications, as well as culturally relevant imagery and content. The NFL collaboration with Houston’s Hispanic community recognizes the growing importance of marketing the Super Bowl in the host city and across the nation.

The NFL is working with an ever-growing list of community partners, including the Houston Texans, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA), Hispanic Women in Leadership (HWIL), Houston Hispanic Forum, Talento Bilingue, and LULAC.

“Here in Houston, we are very excited to see the interaction and collaboration with these and many other organizations on this important initiative,” states Javier Loya, minority owner of the Houston Texans. “These tremendous programs and events will help promote leadership, education and cultural pride throughout the Hispanic community.”

The cornerstone of the NFL’s Hispanic roster will be the “Pepsi Si Latino Day” which will be held on Sunday, Jan. 25, at America Online Presents the NFL Experience.
