NGLC Media, Marketing & Entertainment Conference

The New Generation Latino Consortium, the only organization dedicated to educating and informing the business and entertainment worlds about the importance of the New Generation Latino (NGL) market, is hosting the fourth installment of the industry leading ‘NGLC Media, Marketing & Entertainment Conference’ at the Harvard Club of NYC on Monday April 11, 2011.

Presented by mun2, Telemundo’s Young Latino cable network, the one-day conference will take place at The Harvard Club of NYC.  Representatives from featured co-sponsors Si TV, Terra, Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más and Latina magazine will also be on hand to exclusively discuss New Generation Latinos’ impact in the fields of media, marketing and entertainment.  The day will kick off with invited keynote speaker Roberto Ramirez, Branch Chief of Ethnicity & Ancestry Statistics Population Division of the U.S. Census Bureau, followed by five exciting panel discussions including a celebrity sit-down, catered keynote luncheon and “Meet & Tweet” cocktail reception hosted by Diageo at nearby Havana Central.  At a pivotal time in the evolution of the U.S. Hispanic market, the NGLC Conference is keenly focused on answering questions surrounding the hottest topics within our industry such as:

– Will the 2010 Census numbers positively affect the NGL media, marketing and entertainment space?
– If NGLs are the U.S. Hispanic majority, what is the “fair share” spend to effectively reach them?
– What is the role that large buying and planning conglomerates will play in U.S. Hispanic media?
– What is the balance between culture, language and lifestyle when communicating with NGLs?
– With bilingual and English-dominant NGLs representing 80% of U.S. Hispanics online, and adopting technology, social media and blogging at a meteoric rate, how will they affect the digital space in 2011?

For the first time ever, this year’s conference will also feature a C-Level panel of CEO’s from some of the top media buying and planning companies in the industry.  Already confirmed are Phil Cowdell, CEO of Mindshare North America, Monica Gadsby, CEO of SMG Latin America and Multicultural and Maria Luisa Francoli, Global CEO of MPG.  HispanicAd.com will once again serve as the NGLC’s exclusive trade media partner with uStream also participating as the LIVE video outlet that will feature portions of the conference online throughout the day.

“The NGLC Conference is a unique forum that engages the advertising, marketing and entertainment communities in a meaningful dialogue about one of the fastest growing, and most influential target demos,” said Jacqueline Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo Communications Group. “At Telemundo and mun2 we call them YLAs – Young Latino Americans and they are a core part of our growing audience strategy.”

“Coming off of last year’s hugely successful event, this year’s NGLC conference already has the makings of being our best yet.  New Generation Latinos are the hottest topic in our industry.  In a year where the U.S. Census results are going to solidify their dominant status as the leading U.S. Hispanic growth sector, the NGLC Conference is a must-attend for anyone who’s serious about participating in the future of Hispanic media, marketing and entertainment,” says David Chitel, NGLC Founder and Chairman.

Maria Perez-Brown, SVP, Programming and Development at Si TV states, “We’ve known for some time The New Generation Latino is one of the fastest growing and most important segments in America. The latest Census proves this like never before. Si TV’s main target has and always will be the NGL. A conference like this not only provides advertisers with invaluable insight into the changing face of America, but also validates our bi-cultural programming strategy.”

“We are excited to be partnering with the NGLC for this year’s conference.  Terra has been serving the Hispanic Consumer since its inception twelve years ago.  As such, we have seen the shifts in this market’s ever-changing landscape and have pioneered in programming for this uniquely engaged audience.  The NGLC is leading the conversation regarding the role that the New Generation Latino will be taking in defining this country’s new face as well as advertiser’s true growth opportunity…an essential one,” stated Fernando Rodriguez, CEO of Terra Networks USA.

“The NGLC continues to create awareness on the importance of the Latino market, and is at the forefront of the movement to develop programs and events that educate industries on the impact of this rapidly growing and influential market,” said Charlie Singer, SVP of Content and Creative, Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más. “I’m thrilled to be part of this event and look forward to participating in thought-provoking discussions, sharing best practices and engaging Latino members.” He added.

Conference attendees will actively participate in each of the panel discussions about New Generation Latinos and their critical role within the U.S. Latino media, marketing and entertainment mix.  They will also have the opportunity to interact all day with Fortune 500 executives, top NGL media outlets, general and Latino market ad agency executives, celebrities and invited press outlets.
