Nosotros También Somos Niños & SBS benefit concert in Miami.

Spanish Broadcasting System announced that its stations Romance 106.7 FM, MEGA TV and lamusica.com will be sponsoring the upcoming benefit concert, “Nosotros También Somos Niños” (“We Are Also Children”), on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
The benefit concert is organized by the “La Ventana De Los Cielos” (the Window of the Skies) foundation, which will be held at Miami’s high-status American Airlines Arena and hosted by Don Francisco and Susana Jimenéz. Featured musical performances will include: Ricardo Montaner, Spanish singer David Bisbal, Juanes from Colombia, Juan Luis Guerra from the Dominican Republic, and Luis Fonsi from Puerto Rico.
The concert’s proceeds will go towards “La Ventana De Los Cielos,” a foundation established two years ago in Miami by Montaner. This organization supports children in the Miami area who are physically and mentally challenged by afflictions such as Downs Syndrome, Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
“In an effort to promote the concert Montaner has coined the phrase ’You have a heart commitment with me.’ Romance 106.7 is fully embracing this phrase and immersing themselves in the concert by committing as sponsors”, said Jackie Nosti-Cambo, Vice President and General Manager of the SBS radio cluster in Miami, Florida.
“The unique thing about our concert is that these singers will come together to perform duets and trios using their own forms of Spanish,” said Ricardo Montaner. “I would like to sincerely thank Spanish Broadcasting System for the support they are giving to this event. I feel fortunate enough to consider myself a part of the families of Romance 106.7 and MEGA TV. I have been a guest on shows from these great stations many times and I carry nothing but the best memories from those experiences.”
“Ricardo Montaner truly has a heart of gold,” said Cynthia Hudson Fernandez, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of MEGA TV. “Fifteen years ago he founded ‘Los Niños del Sol’ (‘The children of the sun’) and committed himself to helping those Latin Americans that are less fortunate. Recently, he has turned his attention to the disabled by establishing ‘La Ventana De Los Cielos.’ We are truly proud and honored to be renewing our ’commitment from the heart’ with him and for all the disabled children that will benefit from such an inspirational initiative.”
The concert is also being backed by UNICEF, the United Nations agency that advocates for the protection of infant and children’s rights.
