Noticias 41 In NYC Scores Big.

Spanish-language television has passed a new milestone with the best-ever ratings performance by a Spanish-language local TV newscast in New York, the nation’s largest TV market.

On Friday, October 5, “Noticias 41” (Channel 41 News), the 6 pm local newscast of Spanish- language UHF-TV station Univision 41 (WXTV) here with anchors Rafael Pineda and Denisse Oller, scored a record high 5.6 Nielsen Station Index (NSI) rating and 12 share for second place in its 6 pm to 6:30 pm time period. It is not only a personal best for “Noticias 41,” but also the highest rating and share and the highest time period ranking in the history of Spanish language local news in New York, only a whisker behind the 5.7/12 NSI rating/share scored by first place WNBC Channel 4’s 6 pm news.

Each New York Nielsen Station Index rating point represents 73,010.6 TV households.
