NUVOtv sponsors Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute

For thirteen years running and laughing, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) and NUVOtv have teamed up to provide comic relief during CHCI’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month events.  From Carlos Mencia and Cheech Marin, to Greg Giraldo and Paul Rodriguez, the top Latino comics in America have turned out to show support for CHCI’s leadership development programs while providing an oasis of humor for thousands of CHCI stakeholders over the years.

“NUVOtv is one of the CHCI’s longest standing supporters of our mission and we rely on them to provide the comedy in a week filled with substantive and important policy discussions,” said Esther Aguilera, CHCI President & CEO.  “Our Hispanic Heritage Month events highlight the best and brightest Latino comics and entertainers during this high-profile week of events.”

Since its inception, CHCI and NUVOtv worked together to elevate Reyes of Comedy by bringing high-level and nationally renowned talent while increasing the audience sizes at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. Nearly 1,900 people attended the show in 2007 when comedian Carlos Mencia led an all-star lineup that was hosted by comedy legend Cheech Marin.  Today, NUVOtv’s support has transformed the Reyes of Comedy event into a special, private event for the entertainment of CHCI’s top supporters and stakeholders.

“NUVOtv is proud to be a continued supporter of CHCI and its Annual Reyes of Comedy,” said Michael Schwimmer, CEO of NUVOtv.  “The show features some of today’s top Latino comedians and celebrates our mission of producing compelling original programming that entertains, inspires and unites this powerful community.”
The 13th Annual Reyes of Comedy show will be no different as it features top comedians Anjelah Johnson, Cristela Alonzo, Shaun Latham and host Erik Rivera on Tuesday, October 1, at the Walter E. Convention Center.  Also joining them will be Rep. Jose Serrano and the brainchild and namesake of the comedic event, the Hon. Silvestre Reyes.
“We look forward to many more years of working with the dedicated and talented team at NUVOtv to showcase our talented Latino entertainers while raising money for our nation’s future leaders,” said Aguilera.
