Olmos Kontakto Entertainment launches

The high demand from Hollywood executives for fresh faces and a cohesive Latino entertainment entity has prompted the recent partnership of Isabel Echeverry/Kontakto Reps and Erika Olmos/Olmos Management to form Olmos Kontakto Entertainment. The mission of the new company is to discover and develop a new pool of emerging Latino actors, writers, and directors to work in the U.S. and Global Market.

New York born Isabel Echeverry is most recognized for her work as a top rep in the field of advertising in the US Hispanic Market. Her roster is comprised of several powerhouse production companies such as Believe Media, Carbo Films, Company 3, Beast Editorial, Boxer Films, Personal Music, Altered.LA, Slim, Cherry Sundae, Method Studios and Nunchaku.  Echeverry’s roster of production companies represents a wide array of award-winning directors for advertising including Simon Brand (Paraiso Travel), Isabel Coixet (Elegy), Pedro Pablo Ibarra (Pulling Strings), and Academy Award nominee Carlos Cuarón (Writer: Y Tu Mamá También).”  Kontakto Reps clients received a total of six Cannes Lions awards in the past year.

Erika Olmos began her career as a producer/filmmaker and then transitioned into representation, first as an agent and then as a talent manager. In 2012, Erika founded Olmos Management with a goal of nurturing and promoting a new generation of Latino talent. Erika’s clients include Jonathan Castellanos (Off the Map), Vannessa Vasquez (Sorrow), Maynor Alvarado (Chavez), and Bernardo Saracino (Bless me Ultima, 50 to 1)

“The goal is to not only procure, but also create opportunities with and for our talent,” says Olmos. In addition to managing talent, Olmos Kontakto Entertainment is committed to developing a slate of feature films, reality television, and scripted television shows that either encompasses or promotes an ethnically and culturally diverse experience.

The current slate includes the feature film “Asher,” written and directed by client Francisco Ordonez and executive produced by Mario Burnias with actors Danny Glover, Mekhi Phiefer, Gina Rodriguez and Rene Rosado attached; “I Am Genie,” a reality TV series to be produced by Richard Devinki (“The Apprentice”) and based on the work of Joshua Dawson, founder of the I Am Genie Foundation; and “Waking Jimmy Rizzo,” currently in development with producer Christin Taylor-Antonio with actors Doris Roberts, Tony Denison, Cathy Moriarty, Eric Palladino, Jon Polito and Lainie Kazan attached.

Senior Advisor, Edward James Olmos issued this statement: “The demand is there and so is the talent. The missing link has been the connection that brings the two together.”
