Ordóñez named Sr VP of Programming Research at Univision.

Univision Communications, Inc. announced the appointment of industry veteran Gustavo Ordóñez to the position of senior vice president of Programming Research. In this role, Ordóñez will make programming and content recommendations for all of Univision’s platforms based on research regarding the preferences of Univision consumers. He will also work collaboratively across Univision to help drive new business by providing insights on ratings trends. Based in Miami, Ordóñez will report to both Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content, and Elizabeth Ellers, executive vice president of Corporate Research.
 
“With 20 years of experience as a research executive and strategist, Gustavo has a deep understanding of what Hispanic consumers want to see, hear and engage in on the air and online,” said Ciurana. “As our audience evolves, we must deliver on our commitment to evolve as well. Gustavo’s expertise will help us continue to provide the best content for our audience.”
 
“Gustavo has a proven track record of increasing network viewership, and his experience and insight will help drive the continued growth of Univision,” said Ellers.
 
Ordóñez joins Univision from A&E Ole Networks Latin America, where he held several roles, most previously as senior vice president of Corporate Strategy and Research. He also worked for Disney Latin America, most recently as a marketing manager of New Media and Research, where he launched Disney Channel websites for Latin America. He was also a marketing manager for McDonald’s Corporation in Colombia, as well as a key account manager for Coca-Cola Colombia.
