Dieste Inc., has hired Paco Olavarrieta as its Chief Content Curator. Paco will be leading the newly established creative group of Dieste’s New York office, officially starting on September 12th.
This move is part of a larger decision by the agency to expand its New York field office into a full-service operation.
“New York is a strategic location for us. There is a demand both from our clients and from our sister agencies for a full service office in New York. Once we made the decision to invest in our New York office, Aldo and I began actively recruiting Paco. He was the guy we wanted. He’s not only right for the clients serviced out of our New York office, but will elevate our overall approach to creativity.” says Greg Knipp, CEO of Dieste.
As head of New York office creative department, Paco will lead the work for clients such as Diageo, HP, PepsiCo., and New York Lottery. “Paco is aligned with Dieste’s mantra: insight, that leads to ideas that yield results for our clients. His unique approach to creative, with solid strategic foundation, fits perfectly with Dieste’s philosophy”, says Aldo Quevedo, President and CCO of Dieste.
With over 15 years experience in the US as well as international experience in Mexico and Dominican Republic, Paco has created award-winning campaigns for leading brands such as Tecate, Heineken, Target, HSBC, Wendy’s, Cingular, and has a successful track record working with top notch agencies such as BBDO, Leo Burnett and Alma among others.
“I always admired Dieste for its creative work, and Aldo Quevedo for the way he took Hispanic creative to the next level since the earlier days of this agency. He and I believe in the same principle that the most fun we have, the better ideas will come out. And when Greg and I met and he explained his vision for the agency and his perspective on our industry, I knew we were on the same page”, says Paco.
He added, to the ones wondering if after being “rivals” in so many pitches, can Aldo and Paco co-exist together under the same roof?
“Hey, if Lebron James and Dwyane Wade can coexist in Miami, so do we”, says Paco.
Aldo, being a true Dallas Mavericks fan, just chuckled about the comment.
