Padilla named SVP at Pulpo Media

Pulpo announced that it has promoted Oscar Padilla to Senior Vice President of Marketing, Digital Media & Insights. Padilla was previously the Vice President of Strategy for Entravision’s Luminar Insights, a “big data” analytics and modeling provider uniquely focused on delivering insights on U.S. Latino consumers. Padilla succeeds María Lopez-Knowles, who was recently promoted to Chief Marketing Officer of Entravision.

Padilla will oversee Pulpo’s marketing efforts, helping clients reach and engage the online or (i)Hispanic market, across acculturation levels and digital devices via Pulpo’s extensive digital network. Padilla will report directly to Franklin Rios, Entravision’s Executive Vice President – Digital.

“We’re excited to have Oscar join our team and bring his extensive industry background and marketing expertise to this important position at Pulpo,” said Rios. “His experience in both strategic marketing, and in converting data insights into actionable plans for companies interested in reaching and engaging the lucrative online Hispanic, or (i)Hispanic, market, is well-suited for Pulpo and its clients. Oscar is a proven executive and we look forward to benefiting from his leadership skills and broad knowledge base.”

“With our digital media channels and Luminar’s data and insights solutions, we are positioned to connect all of the dots for marketers by allowing them to more effectively reach and engage (i)Hispanic consumers, and I am pleased to lead this effort at Pulpo,” said Padilla. “Pulpo’s unmatched platform and discernment of the (i)Hispanic marketplace are critical for all advertisers interested in winning this influential sector digitally.”

Padilla joined Entravision in April 2012 as part of the management team leading the formation of Luminar. Prior to joining Entravision, he was Senior Director of Interactive Strategy for Vertis Communications, Inc., for nearly five years, where he led the online division, including strategic services, website development, social media, mobile marketing and all aspects of daily division operations. Prior to that, Padilla was Managing Director at Mindshare Interactive Campaigns, helping clients reach Hispanics. He has also previously held senior positions with Bridgeline, Digital Blackboard, Inc., Hitachi Consulting and Bixler Incorporated.
