Padres de Hoy magazine to launch in Seattle-Area.

The publisher of Seattle’s Child and Puget Sound Parent magazines, Northwest Parent Media, Inc., announced the upcoming debut of Padres de Hoy, a Spanish-language, monthly magazine modeled on the publisher’s two successful parenting magazines. Padres de Hoy marks a groundbreaking alliance with Washington state’s preferred Spanish-language newspaper, Sea Latino. The publishers launch the premiere issue December 2006.

“Seattle’s Child entered the scene in 1979 as the country’s first parenting magazine of its kind—local to the community and free to all readers,” explains Linda Watson, publisher. “We recently learned that a significant portion of our readership is Hispanic, with additional parenting concerns unique to that part of the community.” “That fact, combined with the trust we’ve built among our readership and our desire to serve all the families of the Northwest, will help us successfully speak to the Latino market.”

Jose Quintero, publisher of Sea Latino, expects the magazine to enjoy a loyal readership. “At Sea Latino, we are in the business of printing quality information our readers can use,” says Quintero. “Now we look forward to bringing practical parenting guidance to families in our community.”
