Pelaez joins Washington Square Films.

Production Company, Washington Square Films, based in New York, has signed director George Pelaez who ends a 15-year run with his own Manhattan-based shop ILumina Films.

During his tenure at ILumina, Pelaez garnered assorted honors including a Cannes Lion and three Clio Awards. His recent work includes commercials for Budweiser, Pepsi and Verizon.

Last year, a Budweiser spot helmed by Pelaez garnered the Best of Texas kudo at the Association of Independent Creative Editors (AICE) Awards. The commercial, Bud’s “Mute/Carlos Vivas,” came out of agency LatinWorks, Austin, Texas.

In 2001 Pelaez won the prestigious OJO DE IBEROAMERICA Advertising Festival honor for best director in Latin America.
