People en Español and Cingular Wireless present Desfile Lo Ultimo, a 3-city mall tour and fashion show, highlighting top Latino designers.
A celebration of Hispanic style and culture, Lo Ultimo (“The Latest,” as in “The Latest Fashion”), is also the name of People en Español’s popular style section which is being brought to life in the form of a traveling fashion show. Desfile Lo Ultimo will arrive at Los Angeles’ Montebello Town Center on Saturday, August 25th, Houston’s Almeda Mall on Saturday, September 1st and Miami’s Dolphin Mall on Saturday, September 8th. From 12 noon to 6 p.m., mall visitors can enjoy, free-of-charge the Desfile Lo Ultimo village, an array of products, samplings and raffles from participating sponsors. The Desfile Lo Ultimo fashion shows begin promptly at 4 p.m. and are open, free-of-charge, to the public.
Hosted by People en Español’s Fashion and Beauty Editor, Lucy Lara, and BMG recording artist, Innis, Desfile Lo Ultimo will feature the latest fashion collections from such top Latino designers as the Cuban-born Kenar designer, Regino Collazo; Mexico’s David Rodriguez; the Dominican Republic’s Sully Bonnelly and Ecuadorian shoe designer, Carlos Molina. Innis, star of Mexico’s hit soap opera, “DKDA,” guest star on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and one of People en Español’s 25 Most Beautiful, will also perform his hit single “Vueltas Y Vueltas.”
John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center also joins the tour, adding local flavor via model searches in all three cities. Aspiring female models, who reflect Latin beauty and style, may contact 1 800 222 5906 for more information on local casting calls.
Additionally, exclusive title sponsor, Cingular Wireless, will sponsor the Expresa tu Estilo (express your style) sweepstakes, a contest where two local winners from Los Angeles, Houston and Miami will enjoy a chance to play designer for a day, selecting and styling their own models who will don the winner’s selected creations at the show’s finale.
