People en Español Launches New Double Franchise Issue.

People en Español will debut its first-ever Star of the Year double franchise issue on Monday, November 1. Hispanic television’s leading lady, Myrka Dellanos, secures the magazine’s top spot as Star of the Year. With a multimillion-dollar contract with the Univision network and her highly publicized romance with international icon Luis Miguel, Dellanos became instant front-page news within the Hispanic market in 2004. Next year, the Cuban beauty plans to enter the general market collaborating with The Swan’s creator Nely Galan on her first-ever English language project.

The Star of the Year issue also includes recaps and updates of the years most talked about romances, breakups and scandals including the sudden split between Marc Anthony and former Miss Universe Dayanana Torres as well as Hollywood power exes Penelope Cruz and Tom Cruise and Salma Hayek and Josh Lucas.

Additionally, The Star of the Year issue features a special music guide written by famed producer Emilio Estefan. Estefan shares his top picks to the latest CD releases and highlights top Hispanic talent including up-and-coming bilingual singer J.D.Natasha, Colombian rocker Juanes and Puerto Rican reggae artist Ivy Queen.

Lastly, talented actor, singer and dancer, Jai Rodriguez, currently starring on Bravo’s hit reality program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, joins People en Español’s editorial lineup in the Star of the Year issue. Rodriguez will pen a monthly fashion, trend and culture page, answering dos, don’ts and dilemmas directly from People en Español readers.
