Pontiac Launches Newest Ads To Introduce G6 Coupe & Solstice.
July 1, 2005
The Pontiac division of General Motors Corporation is set to launch its latest ads to introduce the G6 Coupe and Solstice this week featuring champion Latina race car driver Milka Duno. Milka was first featured in Pontiac’s ads to help launch the first ever G6 sedan last year. Driving a Pontiac-powered Daytona Prototype in the Grand American Rolex Cup series for the past two seasons, Milka is the first Hispanic woman to win an international sports car race in North America.
As part of the continued efforts of Pontiac’s largest ever Spanish language advertising campaign, the ads, titled “Mesmerize,” showcase the G6 Coupe and Solstice along with Milka and feature the music of Kinky, Grammy Award nominated Latin rock band. Pontiac’s “Mesmerize” television ads will launch Wednesday, July 27th and print ads will be placed in Hispanic lifestyle magazines beginning in August. The ads were created by Accentmarketing, Pontiac’s Hispanic advertising agency.
“Based on Pontiac’s ads within the last year, consumers are beginning to associate Milka with Pontiac,” said Mary Kubitskey, Pontiac advertising manager. “We feel that Milka represents the brand- both the G6 Coupe and the Solstice reflect the contemporary, stylish Pontiac vehicles – designed for action.”
