Pouring Tequila Herradura instead of bourbon at the Churchill Downs.

Churchill Downs has selected Tequila Herradura as the “Official Tequila for Kentucky Derby 134”, becoming the first tequila maker to carry this prestigious honor.

Herradura, which translates to horseshoe in Spanish, will join other official Brown-Forman brands to the starting gates for Kentucky Derby 134 and Churchill Downs’ Derby-related events, including Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Early Times Mint Julep, Finlandia Vodka, Korbel California Champagne and Fetzer Wines.

“Horses run deep in Herradura’s DNA as symbolized by the horseshoe logo on our product label,” said John Hayes, managing director for Herradura brands. “Our long history and rich tradition combined with the legacy of the Kentucky Derby makes the perfect trifecta.”
