Production of ‘Tierra de Pasiones’ @ Telemundo Scheduled.

Telemundo announced that planning is under way for production on its newest original primetime novela “Tierra de Pasiones,” the latest project to come out of Telemundo Studios in Miami, Florida. Starring Gabriela Spanic and Saul Lisazo, the novela will also feature some of the biggest stars of the telenovela genre including the return of Francisco Gattorno and Catherine Siachoque to the Telemundo screen. In addition, renowned Mexican actor, Héctor Suárez will make his debut as the newest Telemundo star. “Tierra de Pasiones” will begin production next Monday, December 12, 2005.

“We are very excited about the launch of this production,” said Patricio Wills, President of Telemundo-RTI and Head of Production, Telemundo. “Not only is ‘Tierra de Pasiones’ a passionate tale, it also reveals a world that is seldom seen on Hispanic television; the elite world of wine-making and vineyards.”

The story of “Tierra de Pasiones,” is entrenched in the privileged world of wine-making and the passionate plot will unravel on vineyards with a breathtaking backdrop of the enchanted sea. It is the story of Valeria and Francisco; two people with strong personalities faced with a common interest and unable to escape a passionate life where love overcomes all obstacles.

“Tierra de Pasiones” will feature an all-star cast of more than 20 stars, including esteemed actors Sergio Catalán, Ariel López Padilla, Carolina Lizarazu and Ricardo Chaves, among others.

The original production will be shot in beautiful Florida locations including “The Deering Estate at Cutler,” one of the most scenic landscapes in South Florida rich in archeology, history and incredible architecture. More than a naturally beautiful setting, “The Deering” estate is home to historical structures circa 1896 to 1922.

“Tierra de Pasiones” will be directed by renowned industry veterans, Danny Gaviria (“El Cuerpo del Deseo,” “Anita No Te Rajes,” “Pobre Diabla”) and Luis Manzo (“Deciciones”), the creative director is Aurelio Valcarcel and the producer is Martha Godoy. The script is by Eric Von.
