Puerto Rico to form part of new Caribbean soccer league.

According to Caribbean Business, a new Caribbean league involving clubs across the region will be launched next year, a spokesman for Puerto Rico’s Soccer Federation said Friday.

Clubs from Trinidad, Jamaica, St. Kitts, Haiti, Bermuda, Antigua, Guyana, Dominica and others will participate, Puerto Rico’s Soccer Federation spokesman Alan Obrador said.

It is too early to say what the format will look like or how many games will be played each year.

Joe Serralta, president of Puerto Rico’s Soccer Federation, has been pushing for the league’s creation since 2004.
