Puerto Rico’s Sales & Marketing Executives Annual Convention.

The Sales and Marketing Executives Association of Puerto Rico (SME) will hold its Third Annual Convention at The Westin Rio Mar Beach (Río Grande, Puerto Rico) on October 28-31, 2004.

International and local known speakers, market research and professional recognition in sales, marketing, advertising and public relations form the extensive schedule of this event.

“To overcome the success we had in our first two Conventions is one of the greatest challenges we have had this year. For this reason, we have reviewed the schedule of events in order to offer our members a leading edge conference that builds their knowledge, their network, their career or business. In this way, we have confirmed more international and local speakers who will share insights and spark dialogue on important issues related to sales, marketing and advertising”, said Andrés Claudio, President of SME Puerto Rico and Chairman of the Convention’s Committee.

Marc Gobé, CEO and Executive Creative Director of desgrippes gobé group New Cork, will be one of the international speakers. He will speak about Emotional Branding: Connecting Brands to People. Gobé will be joined by Colin Bates, Founder and Director of BuildingBrands Ltd. from Hong Kong, Jorge C. Gallareta, President of MDI Merida, Mexico, George Hyde, Senior Vice President of the Radio Advertising Bureau, Joe Ríos, President of Echo Mountain Learning Center & Ropes Course, Mauricio Troncoso, Marketing Director for Hispanic Markets and Puerto Rico of Procter & Gamble and Del Pe, Founder and President of GLOCEN.

Besides the conferences, the Marketing Excellence Award and the Top Management Award will be given at the Convention. The Marketing Excellence Award is the top recognition given to the products or services that exceeded their performances due to extraordinary marketing strategies. On the other hand, the Top Management Award recognizes top executives from different industries whose professional achievements were outstanding during last year.

“I invite all the local sales, marketing, advertising and public relations executives, as well as our neighbors from the Caribbean, to attend to this Convention. I am sure that it will help us all to develop personally and professionally. We must have in mind that we are all part of a very big market,” concluded Claudio.
