Quiroz its First Chief Diversity Officer at Time Warner Inc.

Time Warner Inc. announced that Lisa Garcia Quiroz has been named the company’s first Chief Diversity Officer. Ms. Quiroz will continue serving in her role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility, and will also be responsible for working closely with Time Warner’s divisions to ensure that the company retains the best talent and maintains an environment where employees can thrive and advance.

“Time Warner’s commitment to diversity has continued to grow over the past few years under Lisa’s leadership and I’m pleased to formalize her role as our first Chief Diversity Officer,” said Jeff Bewkes, Chairman and CEO, Time Warner Inc. “Our workforce increasingly reflects our dedication to diversity, and as a result we’ve become even better at creating premier content that reaches all audiences.”

Since Ms. Quiroz joined Time Warner’s Corporate Responsibility group in 2003, she’s strategically aligned the company’s philanthropic efforts and aggressively expanded its outreach programs. In 2006, Ms. Quiroz took on the responsibilities of heading Time Warner’s diversity and multicultural initiatives. She began collaborating across all of Time Warner’s divisions to create effective programs aimed at better serving and reaching a more diverse marketplace.

Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Quiroz was the catalyst for two of Time Inc.’s successful brand extensions – People en Español and Time for Kids. She was the founding publisher of People en Español. Ms. Quiroz also created and launched Time for Kids, an award-winning classroom news magazine for elementary school kids with a circulation of over 3.5 million.

“I’m honored to be taking on this new role and look forward to the opportunity to even further advance Time Warner’s diversity agenda,” said Ms. Quiroz. “Business success is correlated to the ability to attract diverse talent, which has enabled Time Warner to create attractive content for a broad multicultural audience.”
