Radio Caracol Miami becomes 50,000 Watts.

Radio Caracol 1260 AM (WSUA) announced that it has increased its day time signal from 5,000 watts to 50,000 watts; and its nighttime signal from 5,000 to 20,000 watts. This upgrade will allow Radio Caracol 1260-AM to cover Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties with a strong signal. The upgrade has been effective as of February 6, 2006.

Tomas Martinez, Vice President and General Manager of Radio Caracol 1260-AM, commented, “We are excited to have a full market signal in the Miami Hispanic radio market, and thrilled to be delivering Hispanics soccer fans in-depth coverage of the 2006 World Cup. With our signal upgrade in effect, we will now be able to deliver to our advertisers the 1.7M Hispanics residing from Key West to Pompano Beach.”

The Spanish broadcast of 2006 FIFA World Cup™ will be featured throughout the station’s programming line-up, which includes Hoy por Hoy, Efectos Secundarios, Noticiero del Medio Dia, and En La Jugada, which airs Monday through Friday at 1pm (EST), as well as on Carrusel Deportivo, which airs every Sunday from 3pm-8pm (EST).

The announcement of the station’s signal increase and its coverage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ is supported by a consumer and trade advertising and marketing campaign. Entitled “Mas Potencia” (More Power), the campaign includes print advertising, television, outdoor billboards, on-air and Web site promotions, as well as in-store events.
