Radiovisa & Fox Sports en Español Team Up.

Spanish-language radio network Radiovisa and Spanish-language cable and satellite sports network Fox Sports en Español (FSE) announced they are launching a two-hour live radio program, Fox Sports en Español Ultimo Marcador, starting Sunday, October 10th at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT. The weekly sports call-in show will air exclusively on Radiovisa’s affiliated radio stations throughout the U.S. A live television simulcast of the program will debut on Fox Sports en Español in January 2005.

Under the agreement between the two companies, Radiovisa will produce Fox Sports en Español Ultimo Marcador out of its studios in Sherman Oaks, California. Each Sunday’s program will recap the major weekend sporting events most relevant to the U.S. Spanish-speaking community, including soccer, boxing and baseball from the U.S., Mexico and the rest of Latin America. The show will be hosted by veteran sports journalists and Fox Sports en Español commentators John Laguna and Samuel Jacobo, and will include news updates and player interviews as well as listener phone calls live.

Fox Sports en Español will also become the title sponsor of each one-minute score update aired during Radiovisa’s three-hour live weekday sports program Deportes Y Más, an interactive talk show hosted by Troy Santiago that offers a unique analysis of the sports world. The score update segments will air three times per hour during each day’s programming beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.

“It made perfect sense to align Radiovisa with the leading U.S. Spanish-language sports television network, Fox Sports en Español,” said Radiovisa COO Ray De La Garza. “This partnership will provide Spanish-speaking sports fans with more viable, trusted options from which to access sports information, scores and highlights as well as a way to voice their opinions through call-in commentary.”

“Radiovisa is fast becoming one of the leading providers of news and sports content to U.S. Hispanic radio listeners,” said David Sternberg, General Manager of Fox Sports en Español. “Leveraging Fox Sports en Español’s position as the leading Spanish-language sports television network in the country, we will jointly develop relevant, entertaining and informative sports programming for our audiences across the U.S. while also offering advertisers an attractive multimedia platform for reaching Spanish-speaking sports fans.”
