June 11, 2013
República announced that it has been honored at the 34th edition of the Telly Awards. República took home a total of six Bronze Tellys in the global creative competition that garnered more than 12,000 entries from five continents and all 50 states.
This year, República received two Telly Awards in the public service and campaign/promotional categories, respectively, for the third phase of “Es El Momento” (The Moment is Now) – an education initiative developed and launched in part by the agency in 2010 aimed at improving academic achievement among Hispanic students for clients Univision and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The agency was also honored with a third Telly, in the bank category, for a television commercial it created for client BankUnited’s “Election Day 2012” advertising campaign.
República also received two additional Telly Awards, one in the corporate image category and another in the public relations category, for its fifth anniversary video, developed as a commemorative film showcasing the dynamic staff and captivating environment of the growing agency. The video also earned República a first-time People’s Telly Award in the non-broadcast category. The public selects the People’s Telly winners via online voting on YouTube.
“We strive to deliver the highest quality product for our clients and we’re humbled when our work is recognized, especially by our peers from around the globe,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, chairman and CEO of República. “We congratulate our incredible team for their outstanding efforts and thank our amazing clients for the opportunity to create this work,” added Plasencia.
This year marks the second consecutive year República is recognized by the Tellys; in 2012, the agency received four honors. Considered the premier awards honoring the finest film and video productions, Telly Award winners are recognized for their high-caliber work and represent some of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.
“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, executive director of the Telly Awards. “República’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
