The Rising Son Returns to air on WAPA America.

On Saturday, October 30, WAPA America, the U.S. cable network arm of the leading broadcaster in Puerto Rico, WAPA Television, will televise the featherweight title boxing match in which Puerto Rico’s WBO junior featherweight champion Wilfredo “WV2” Vazquez Jr. (20-0-1, 17 KOs) takes on Mexico’s former super flyweight king, Ivan “Choko” Hernandez (28-5-1, 17 KOs), to defend his WBO junior featherweight title. WAPA America will transmit the fight, which aired live in the U.S. on Pay-Per-View on October 16, in Spanish.

In his second WBO Junior Featherweight title defense, Vazquez, son of former world champion, Wilfredo Vazquez, Sr., wins in an eleventh round TKO over Hernandez at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida, where Vazquez has won 13 fights; 11 by knockout.

“We’re excited to bring Vazquez’ third straight title fight to U.S. boxing fans,” said Doug Jacobs, President of Integrated Sports Net, which distributed the event. “Wilfredo is one of the hottest boxers in the world and he is continuing the rich Puerto Rican boxing tradition that also includes his father. Vazquez is talented, refreshing and on his way to becoming a worldwide star in boxing. The added rivalry drama associated with a Puerto Rican fighting a Mexican insures fans of entertaining, hard-fought action.”
