RL Public Relations & Marketing Got Honey.

RL Public Relations + Marketing announced the addition of the National Honey Board to its client roster. Based in Colorado and serviced by RLPR’s New York and Los Angeles office, the National Honey Board conducts research and promotion programs to help maintain and expand domestic and foreign markets for honey.

“Food companies are recognizing more and more that connecting with the Hispanic marketplace through relevant media and community relations programs will solidify their place in the minds and hearts of this growing audience,” said Roxana Lissa, founder of RLPR. “The National Honey Board has hired our team for their first comprehensive program targeting Latinos, which will showcase the diversity and purity of honey sold in the U.S.”

According to recent surveys, Latinas confidence in honey sold in the U.S. is floundering because they tend to believe that the differences in taste and color between Mexican and U.S. honey is due to additives or unnatural ingredients. In truth, what makes one form of honey distinct from another is the flower – the source of nectar for bees – and in America, there are many types of flowers which make for true variety in the honey made and sold here.

“Through research, we learned that while Latinas have a true fondness for honey, they tend to gravitate more towards the darker forms of honey typically made in Mexico,” added Bruce Wolk, Director of Marketing, National Honey Board. “RLPR will help us educate Latinas about the benefits of U.S. varieties of honey, while promoting its pure, natural qualities.”
