Rodriguez named VP & GM of Univision San Francisco.

Univision Communications announced the appointment of Raul Rodriguez as vice president and general manager, Univision San Francisco. Rodriguez will oversee local news, programming, advertising sales, marketing, on-air promotion and community relations for Univision’s local Radio and TV stations as well as Interactive platforms in the market. Based out of San Francisco, he will report to Luis Patiño, senior vice president of Univision Television Group, and Peter M. Moore, senior vice president/Western Regional Manager, Univision Radio.
 
“Raul’s ample experience in broadcast media coupled with his invaluable knowledge of our burgeoning Hispanic community makes him a critical asset to the Univision team in San Francisco,” said Patiño and Moore. “It is paramount that we continue to further our stations’ reach and growth, along the growth of Hispanics, and with Raul on board, we will remain on track to success.”
 
Before joining Univision, Rodriguez served as general manager and vice president of Journal Communications where he managed three TV stations, produced daily news and delivered the highest power share in the group. He was director of Hispanic Sales for News- Press & Gazette, where he was responsible for the company’s Hispanic assets, including six TV stations and one radio station, for which he developed marketing and programming. Rodriguez’ over 15 years of experience in the broadcast industry also includes serving as general manager and vice president of Telemundo’s Independent station in LA and as general sales manager for Telemundo’s San Francisco Bay Area stations.
