Romance Is Back @ Telemundo.

Viewers who enjoy traditional romantic novelas are in for a real treat from Telemundo when the network premieres: “Sofía…Dame Tiempo” (“Sofía…Give Me Time”); a passionate story, full of intrigue, jealousy, envy, but above all, Love. “Sofía…Dame Tiempo” will premiere worldwide on Monday, March 3, 2003 at 7:00pm ET/PT, in the United States and Colombia simultaneously.

Sofía Santero and Santiago Rodríguez have always loved each other. Both grew-up in the small fishing town of Soplavientos, and even as kids they knew they were meant for each other. They are the perfect couple and their only dream is to get married, have children, and live together happily ever after in each other’s arms.

But destiny has a different plan for these lovebirds. Before they can enjoy true happiness their love will be put to the test by the envy of Camilo Manrique, who had always been infatuated with Sofía; the secrets Adela, Santiago’s mother, keeps well hidden; an unjust accusation that forces Santiago to leave Sofía without explanation; and Francesca’s love for Santiago, for whom she will fight until he remains by her side.

Separated by destiny, but united by love, Sofía and Santiago will have to conquer great obstacles to recover the happiness that so abruptly slipped away. Both will have to pay the price for their mistakes but, in the end, everything will be up to Santiago who only asks Sofía to “give him time” to be worthy of her love once again.

Filmed in Colombia with leading actors Rafael Novoa (“Las Juanas”, “Güajira”) and Karen Martínez (“Amor a Mil”), “Sofía…Dame Tiempo”, promises to be the best alternative for those who enjoy good novelas filled with passionate romances and love.
