Sandy USA Partners with Latina Artist to Launch My Lotería.
April 2, 2007
Sandy USA has teamed up with Latina artist Cristina Sosa Noriega to present her updated version of lotería (bingo) ˆ the well-known and cherished symbol of Mexican heritage. Noriega‚s new bilingual version of the game, based on the artist’s collection of updated original and new contemporary icons in 54 hand-painted images, has been developed by Sandy USA into a colorful line of tableware and general merchandise.
The product line, My Lotería by Cristina Sosa Noriega, debuted on April 4, 2007, at select Texas-based grocery chain H-E-B and H-E-B Plus! Stores.
“Initial consumer response has been very gratifying. It is apparent that the My Lotería by Cristina Sosa Noriega products makes a multigenerational personal connection with consumers, as evidenced through sales and attendance at recent scheduled appearances by Cristina at H-E-B and H-E-B Plus! stores,” says Robert Nocera, CEO of Sandy USA, Inc. “We are seeking to offer selected retailers an opportunity to differentiate themselves from their competition through this exciting product and branding vehicle. This is a unique and perfect opportunity for grocery retailers, because Latino consumers shop more frequently and spend more of their income with grocers than any other demographic. My Lotería by Cristina Sosa Noriega allows grocers the opportunity to build a branded presence which will protect their margins while enhancing their quality image.”
