Santos – VP Of News For Telemundo Stations Group.

Laura Santos has been named Vice President of News for Telemundo Stations. She will report to Ibra Morales, President, Telemundo Station Group, with a dotted line to Steve Scwhaid, Senior Vice President of News and Programming for NBC Stations.

“Laura’s accomplishments and solid experience was the contributing factor to bringing her on board,” said Morales. “We are convinced that her knowledge and initiatives will help position our stations as leaders in their respective markets.”

In her position, Santos will be responsible for providing leadership to the Telemundo Stations News Directors on product development, talent recruitment, and news promotion.

Prior to joining Telemundo, Santos served as Vice President and General Manager of Washington DC-based ZGS Broadcasting, owners of Telemundo affiliates in Orlando and Tampa. Santos managed four broadcast stations – WTMO-TV 40 in Orlando, WRMD-TV 57 in Tampa, as well as AM radio stations Tropical and Amor in that same city.
