Satmex Maximo Targeting the US Hispanic Viewer.

Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex) in conjunction with Crawford Satellite Services, a service area of Crawford Communications Inc., announced the launching of its new video platform, Satmex Maximo. The announcement was made by Clemente Cabello, Marketing Director and Leonardo Alvarado, Video Broadcast Director at Satmex corporate offices in Mexico City. The platform is designed to bring indigenous Latin American programming to U.S. cable head-ends directly from the countries where the programming originates and enhance the cable head-ends Hispanic programming packages, a major step towards further serving the large and ever-expanding U.S. Hispanic population. The platform leverages Satmex’s robust satellite fleet in conjunction with Crawford’s infrastructure and state-of-the-art distribution system.

“Satmex Maximo’s channels are winner channels in their countries of origin and each has a distinctive personality thus appealing to a variety of tastes. Satmex Maximo’s content ranges from documentary/cultural, arts, science, sports, news and political/social debates to movies, soap operas, music, children’s programming and general entertainment,” commented Clemente Cabello. “We created this offer, taking into consideration all Hispanics living in the U.S. who wish to keep in touch with their countries of origin and most importantly, teach the younger generation about their culture and traditions, while away from their homeland,” concluded Cabello.

“The SatMex Maximo platform offers the booming U.S. Hispanic population true entertainment choices that simply did not exist before,” noted Vince Matherne, Director of Business Development and Sales for Crawford Satellite Services. “This platform fills a much needed gap in what was once considered a novelty or a niche.”
