SBS Charity Radio Marathon in Miami.

Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) announced that SBS stations Clásica 92.3, Romance 106.7, and El Zol 95.7 will join Willy Chirino, the popular Salsa singer, in hosting a radio marathon to raise money for the victims who were affected by the severe flooding caused by Tropical Storm “Noel” In the Dominican Republic. The marathon will be held Wednesday, November 14, from 6:00 AM to 7:00PM.
The Dominican Republic suffered the worst damage of any country in the region as Noel claimed the lives of 85 people, forced more than 25,000 people to evacuate their homes, and destroyed more than 6,000 buildings. In the aftermath, electricity was lost in 39 provinces and a state of emergency was declared in Santo Domingo, the nation’s capital, and 28 provinces.
Spanish Broadcasting System, Willy Chirino and the foundation “Fund Aid to the Victims of the Dominican Republic” are encouraging people to make donations in the form of food, clothing or money to help their efforts. Donations can be made at MK Travel, which is located at 999 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables.
The radio shows that will be heading up these efforts throughout the day will be “Zona Cero” from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Clásica 92.3 FM, “Alfombra Roja” from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Romance 106.7, and “Fonomanía” from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on El Zol 95.7.
