SBS launches DJ 106.7FM in South Florida.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS)announced the launch of DJ 106.7 (WRMA-106.7FM) the new home of Miami’s Deejay, DJ Laz (Lazaro Mendez). The new radio station targets South Florida’s young Hispanic adults in the highly sought-after Adults 18-49 demographic. DJ 106.7FM, with a bilingual “Contemporary Hits/CHR” format, will combine Spanish and English music, providing its listeners with a wide variety of genres and outstanding music. DJ 106.7FM will feature current Spanish and English music hits including Pitbull “Mr. Worldwide”, Don Omar, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, FloRida, Prince Royce, Aventura, Drake, and many more. WRMA Romance 106.7FM has been changed to the new DJ 106.7FM, which began broadcasting transmissions on June 25th, 2012.

SBS also announced today that DJ Laz (Lazaro Mendez), has decided to return to the airwaves to host his proven top-rated morning drive radio show in South Florida. Listeners will be able to enjoy the famous radio personality DJ Laz now on “DJ 106.7 Home of The DJ Laz Morning Show, We are Miami ™”. Laz’s show will profile his unique brand and style on the microphone beginning Wednesday, July 4th, 2012, when “The DJ Laz Morning Show” will be broadcasted in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market for the first time. “The DJ Laz Morning Show” will begin airing on Wednesday July 4th, 2012 from 6 a.m.- 10 a.m. (ET) in South Florida and he will continue to air a separate show for the West Coast market on LA 96.3FM from 6 a.m.-10 a.m. (PT).

“I’ve been having a blast doing Morning’s LA, and when SBS offered me the opportunity to launch another radio station in Miami, I was excited for the opportunity to bring my talents back to Miami. My partnership with SBS has now allowed me to branch my brand from the East Coast to the West Coast and I’m excited to be able to do mornings in both major markets,” said DJ Laz.
