National Cable Communications (NCC announced the promotion of Greg Schaefer to President and Chief Executive Officer. Schaefer came to NCC in November 2002 as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and was elevated to President on January 1, 2004.
Schaefer has led the company during a period of dramatic evolution and growth, with sales exceeding $1 billion in 2008. NCC introduced a number of breakthrough sales, marketing and technology initiatives under his leadership that have made Spot Cable one of the fastest growing segments of the ad market.
“Greg has been a terrific asset to NCC and Spot Cable. He has recruited a top notch executive team, expanded NCC affiliations, and pushed the company north of $1 billion in revenue. In 2008, Schaefer was the recipient of both the Cable Advertising Bureau’s President’s Award and “The Silver Bell” award from The Ad Council which underscored his significant contributions to the cable advertising industry.
