Schwarz named President & GM of Telemundo 47 / WNJU in NY

The Telemundo Station Group named Cristina Schwarz as President and General Manager of Telemundo 47 / WNJU, the NBCUniversal-owned television station serving the Hispanic community in the New York Tri-State area. Additionally, Liliana Aristizabal was promoted to Vice President of Sales for the station.

A seasoned media veteran with more than three decades of local, national and international experience, Schwarz was most recently Vice President of Univision Cable Networks, where she oversaw the company’s portfolio of cable networks, including De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino, FOROtv, Univision tlnovelas and Bandamax. Previously, she was Vice President of Programming and Production for Galavision. Before joining Univision in Miami, Schwarz led her own business, CSLR, Ltd., where she consulted for several media companies based internationally and in the United States.
 
Schwarz has significant local television experience, having served as Vice President and General Manager of three local stations in New York within the Univision Television Group over 17 years – WXTV, WFUT and WFTY. She also led sales teams for Univision and Telemundo networks and worked in advertising for the Bravo Group and Caballero Spanish Radio Network.

A 15-year Telemundo veteran, Aristizabal is moving to Telemundo 47 from Telemundo 51 / WSCV in Miami, where she has been the Local Sales Manager for the last six years. She previously worked at the New York Telemundo station as the National Sales Manager for four years and began her career with the Telemundo Station Group as an Account Executive for the National Sales Organization. Earlier, Aristizabal worked as the Director of National Sales for the ZGS Group, which owns Telemundo affiliate stations around the country.
