Sears ‘El Sueno de Tu Vida’.
June 9, 2008
This summer Sears is spreading soccer fever across ten major U.S. cities — as part of the El Sueno de Tu Vida. Through this initiative, and in partnership with Copa Alianza, Sears will showcase the best Hispanic soccer talent in the country from June 14 to September 7. Copa Alianza is the premier amateur Hispanic soccer tournament in the U.S.
As part of El Sueno de Tu Vida, adult amateur players on Alianza de Futbol Hispano affiliated teams in each city will be able to take part in open and free tryouts where they will display their soccer skills to Mexico’s most accomplished scouts. The tryout finalists will have the opportunity to join the Local All-Star squad that will play one of Mexico’s Primera Division A teams (reserve clubs) for hometown fans.
El Sueno de Tu Vida tryouts will be hosted by top scouts including Cristobal Ortega a Club America legend; Pachuca’s Carlos Trucco; Jose Luis Arce; and Jose Enrique Vaca, an influential scout for Club America.
Four members of the Local squad will have a chance to try out for the National All-Star Team that will compete against Tapatio (Chivas de Guadalajara’s Primera Division A team) in Los Angeles in the National Alianza All Star Game. The national championship will be broadcast on Fox Sports en Espanol.
In each city, spectators will have the opportunity to win prizes by participating in on-site activities such as the Sears Skills Challenge and Sears Soccer Bowling. During the first weekend, the top five finalists of the Sears Skills Challenge will win $100 Sears gift cards and the opportunity to advance to the local finals held during the last weekend. The winner of the local finals will be awarded a trip to the El Sueno de Tu Vida finals in Los Angeles to compete against the national Skills Challenge winners for the grand prize — a $2500 Sears gift card.
