Showtime Laughs It Up With The Original Latin Kings Of Comedy.

Showtime brings its NO LIMITS attitude to the comic stage with the acquisition of the comedy special THE ORIGINAL LATIN KINGS OF COMEDY, it was announced today by Matthew Duda, Executive Vice President, Program Acquisitions and Planning, Showtime Networks Inc. Directed by Jeb Brien, the comedy special is hosted by Cheech Marin (Cheech and Chong) and stars comedians George Lopez (“George Lopez” and the Showtime Original Picture FIDEL) Paul Rodriguez (Tortilla Soup), Joey Medina (The Lost Empire) and Alex Reymundo (The Movment). THE ORIGINAL LATIN KINGS OF COMEDY is slated to air in September of 2003 as part of Hispanic Heritage month.

In a similar vain as The Original Kings of Comedy, the special was filmed during a live concert tour at a stop in El Paso, Texas. However, THE ORIGINAL LATIN KINGS OF COMEDY brings the laughs Latino style with a blend of young talent and wily veterans who take a no holds barred approach to comedy. THE ORIGINAL LATIN KINGS OF COMEDY is primarily in English with some of the jokes delivered in Spanish.

Cheech Marin opens the special with his own abbreviated performance and serves as the host introducing the remaining comics. In addition to his directing duties, Jeb Brien serves as producer along with Scott Montoya.
