Sí TV celebrates Sacramento launch with Star Comedy Event.

Sí TV announced that it has launched on Comcast’s Sacramento Area cable systems (Channel 478) on its Digital Basic Package, and is now distributed on all Comcast systems throughout California.

To celebrate this distribution milestone, Sí TV has organized an exclusive VIP event, Latino 101 Comedy Night on March 1. The event will be hosted by California State Senator Alex Padilla and feature performances by nationally known comedians starring in Sí TV’s popular original series, Latino 101, including Alex Reymundo, Rene Sandoval and Debi Gutierrez.

Co-sponsoring the March 1 event will be the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, California Cable Television Association and the California Latino Capitol Association. The event will be taped for local video on demand.

“Working with the Comcast California team has been an amazing experience,” said Michael Schwimmer, Sí TV’s chief executive officer. “Now with complete coverage on their California systems, we can fully serve the entertainment needs of California’s exploding Bi-Cultural Latino (BCL) population. Anyone who sees the Census numbers will be convinced that it’s the right time and the right market, and Si TV is the right network.”

Curt Henniger, Comcast’s regional senior vice president of California said, “Sí TV is a valuable addition to our programming lineup – its strong cultural resonance will help Comcast further connect with Bi-Cultural Latinos (BCL). We welcome Sí TV to the Sacramento Area and look forward to the celebration on March 1.”

Senator Alex Padilla, Chair of the Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee, added, “I’m honored to host Latino 101 Comedy Night. Si TV’s programming is unique and valuable to the Latino market. It is critical that a diverse range of programming be available to serve all cultural groups. Sí TV will meet the growing demand of the bi-cultural Latino community.”
