Sirenas will premiere exclusively on WAPA America.

Sirenas, a new local movie from Puerto Rico, will premiere on Thursday, December 11, 2008, exclusively on WAPA Television in Puerto Rico and WAPA America in the U.S.

Sirenas is a movie aimed at young adults with a special message for those who live their lives in a hurry and fail to think about the consequences of their actions. The movie explores the world of surfing and presents spectacular images from some of Puerto Rico’s most stunning beaches.

The movie tells the story of three young women, Marilyn (Natalie Rivera), Shakira (Virginia Romero) and Perla (Christie Miro), who share a special friendship and a love for surfing until one unexpected event changes their lives and puts their friendship, values and integrity to the test.

Sirenas is the last in a series of made-for-TV movies produced by XCL-TV for WAPA throughout the year. Jorge Luis Ramos oversaw the executive production, and Vicente Castro wrote the script; the same pair that produced Al Borde Del Deseo, WAPA’s new weekly miniseries. The film was directed by Puerto Rican director Cristina Rodriguez.

Sirenas will debut Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m. on WAPA America in the U.S., and simultaneously on WAPA-TV in Puerto Rico.
