Sony ‘Para Tu País’.

Sony Electronics announced the launch of a new service called Para Tu País, which helps U.S. consumers order Sony products and have them delivered directly to family and friends in Mexico.

Para Tu País, which means For Your Country, connects U.S. consumers via a bilingual, toll-free hotline with a Sony call center in Mexico, which processes orders for shipment anywhere within the country.

“We have had a long and successful relationship with Hispanic consumers in the U.S. and in Mexico as a premier brand they like and trust,” said Pedro LaFarga, a director of Sony Electronics. “We realize how important it is for U.S. families and friends to stay in touch with their loved ones in Mexico, and we want to support those relationships. This new service gives consumers a great way to send wonderful gifts back home without the usual hassles and costs to send or carry products abroad.”

The company will deliver products within seven business days from the purchase date with a limited warranty in Mexico for one year.

To launch the service, Sony will establish a unique “pop-up” store, or temporary showroom in the Montebello Town Center near Los Angeles, which has one of the highest Latino populations in the country. Sony will open the store on Nov. 20th. Consumers will be able to experience the various Sony brands and learn more about the products, which include the latest BRAVIA™ televisions, VAIO computers, home theater systems, Cyber-shot® digital cameras, PlayStation game consoles and more.
The “pop-up” store will be open through Jan. 7th and staffed with a team of bilingual Sony sales ambassadors to educate consumers about products and guide them through the purchase process. Consumers can conduct transactions at a telephone bank within the showroom using a toll-free number.

After the holidays consumers can continue to use the Para Tu País service by calling the toll-free number and visiting the web site.
