Southern California Soccer Leagues ‘TOYS FOR SOCCER’.
November 12, 2005
The Leagues of Copa Mexico 2006, HTA Group and Soccer Si!! get together for the 2nd Annual Toys For Soccer Collection to be held in three different Soccer Leagues ( Golden Youth Soccer League of Anaheim, CA, USA Younger Soccer League, Carson CA and Anahuak Youth Soccer League of East LA, CA).
This very exciting program will combine a Little Soccer tournament and a collection of toys for all the families in need in Southern California, Tecate and Ensenada, Baja California. Families can bring a toy to any of the locations where the tournaments are being held and enjoy a good Holiday atmosphere with soccer games played by kids and adults.
“We are very happy with the turnover of people that brought toys last year and hope to collect more toys this year for all these kids of families that do not have the resources to buy toys for their kids. I am very proud of these soccer leagues that do not charge a penny and provide the fields for this great program of Toys for Soccer Foundation, said Rafael Oscal, President of HTA Group, Coordinator of COPA MEXICO 2006, and Founder of “Toys for Soccer Foundation”
The Toys for Soccer program began one year ago with the idea of collecting toys for the children of families in need in Southern California and the Orphans of the Tecate and Ensenada, Baja California. 2004 was a big success and now many of the Soccer Leagues want to continue helping us with this program. Last year collection was more than 2,000 toys in one weekend. The 2005 TOYS FOR SOCCER, will be a 3 weekend of soccer tournaments for kids and adults and we wish to collect more than 10,000 toys to bring more happiness to our kids and families in need in our community.
Also Toys for Soccer Foundation is raising money for the children affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Funds raised will be used to purchase toys to be distributed to children whose lives were devastated by the hurricanes. Donations can be made via the Toys for Soccer Foundation
