STOPP @ ZGS Communications.
March 28, 2003
ZGS Communications obtained the coveted Advertising and Media Campaign for STOPP (Statewide Outreach on Predatory Practices) of the State of California’s Department of Corporations.
The campaign will target Hispanic adults in the top California markets and is designed to raise awareness and change behavior about predatory lending practices. Many Hispanics are vulnerable to predatory lending practices because they are often unaware of their rights as borrowers, making them prey for high-risk deceptive methods.
These practices include unreasonable requirements such as asking a borrower to purchase single-premium credit insurance in order to obtain a mortgage as well as charging excessive fees to the borrower.
“The State of California is proud to collaborate with ZGS Communications in carrying out this important campaign. Their extensive expertise in the Hispanic market, wide range of capabilities and strong media relations will undoubtedly produce extraordinary results,” said Andre Pineda, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Corporations for the State of California.
“ZGS is the leading Hispanic-owned social marketing agency in the country and our expertise in the Hispanic community positions us perfectly to launch this California campaign,” says Lorena Chambers, VP of Strategic Marketing at ZGS. “In addition, this campaign aligns well with our mission to partner with clients whose projects enhance the vitality of the communities in which we work, live and play.”
