The galloping of his horse, the swoosh of his sword, the black mask… The legendary Diego de la Vega is recognized as the first Hispanic hero. The story captivates the minds of young and old, with visions of gitanos, guitar music, spectacular sword fighting and heroic prowess. Now, fans of the story and of the new Telemundo telenovela Zorro: La Espada y la Rosa, will be able to extend their Zorro experience by downloading exclusive video and other mobile content from the show right to their AT&T mobile phones by texting key word ‘ZORRO’ to 386.
AT&T, in partnership with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI), co-producer of Zorro: La Espada y la Rosa, and Telemundo has become the national sponsor of the telenovela and will have exclusive rights to custom-created mobile content. Sony Pictures Television is responsible for the distribution of mobile content to AT&T.
AT&T will provide wireless customers with a rich video mobile content experience as part of its three-screen strategy that gives the audience the ability to stay connected to their favorite show on their phones, online and through the TV. Wireless customers will have access to exclusive 30-second and two-minute video footage, updated weekly, showing the best kisses, the best fights, the best chases, as well as love advice from Zorro and Esmeralda, in addition to ringtones, wallpapers and mobile games.
“Fans of Zorro have a powerful connection to the story and follow every new adventure so it is very exciting to bring the legend to life a rich, enhanced content experience at their fingertips,” said Marcus Owenby, Hispanic marketing director at AT&T wireless, formerly Cingular.
“As producers of our own content, we are uniquely positioned to offer high-quality, relevant programs to our viewers anytime, anywhere,” said Peter Blacker, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Telemundo. “We recognize cell phones are important in the daily life of Hispanics because they keep them connected to their community and are excited about this partnership with a company that deeply understands that.”
Content offerings include access to the theme ringtone, sung by Beyoncé and Alejandro Fernández . Ringtones will be available for download at $2.49 while love alerts have a subscription price of $1.99.
