November 8, 2008
AT&T Inc. announced the expansion of Mi Portal, a comprehensive bilingual web portal, offering AT&T DSL customers the latest Web features and online entertainment in-language.
The 13-state region bilingual functionality expansion covers some of the fastest-growing Hispanic markets such as Los Angeles and San Diego in California, San Antonio and Houston in Texas, and Chicago in Illinois, as well as smaller markets in Nevada, Oklahoma, Kansas, Montana, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Connecticut. With the expansion, in addition to a fully bilingual registration process, Mi Portal offers full mirrored Spanish-English personalization and brings its popular bilingual offerings to Hispanic customers who want to stay current with the latest happenings from Latin America, shop or chat online, stream radio, or watch the newest music videos, among many other available applications.
“The expansion of Mi Portal is part of our commitment to servicing the Hispanic community and with these unique bilingual online offerings we’re making it easier for our Spanish-speaking customers to navigate and take full advantage of what the Web has to offer,” said Laura Hernandez, executive director, Diversity Marketing, AT&T. “In addition to in-language email and a fully functional Spanish language calendar, once a customer accesses the initial Language Selection, they will be able to continue with the rest of the registration in Spanish.”
