Taller Telemundo has received the CABE Award.

Telemundo announced that “Taller Telemundo” has received the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE) Media and Communications Award. The honor was bestowed for support of bilingual learning and educational equity. Don Browne, President, Telemundo, accepted the award on behalf of the network on Saturday, March 8, during CABE’s 33rd annual ceremony in San Jose, California.

“Taller Telemundo” was created as an academic partnership, to identify, train, and inspire a new generation of writers for Spanish-language television. Most of the workshop’s graduates have been hired by the network and integrated to the writing staff. The program was extended to include actors in 2007, many of whom have been identified as having the potential to cross over to the English speaking market.
