Tecate & Heineken sponsor 24th Hispanic Heritage Awards.

Tecate, cerveza con carácter, and Heineken USA are proud to sponsor the 24th Hispanic Heritage Awards. Since 1987, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) has celebrated the visionary achievements of Latino icons in the areas of Arts, Business, Education, Entertainment, Media, Politics and Sports. This year’s annual celebration at the Kennedy Center on September 29th comes without exception as sponsors and invited guests raise a toast to the boldness and life-long commitment by the honorees in giving Hispanics “a good name”.

“As a company, Heineken USA has a commitment to the communities where our employees live and work and where our products are enjoyed,” Dan Tearno, senior vice president and chief corporate relations officer, Heineken USA.  “Our participation in programs like the Hispanic Heritage Awards allows us to deliver on this commitment, while celebrating those individuals who embody our corporate values, including respect and enjoyment. Like Cuauhtémoc Blanco, this year’s honorees possess uncompromised character in their reach for success, a core value which is shared by Tecate.”

The Hispanic Heritage Award is also being presented to Mario Kreutzberger for his humorous on-air portrayal as ‘Don Francisco’; respected Congressman Luis Gutierrez who once sat behind the wheel of a taxi; Juan Luis Guerra and Alejandro Sanz for their musical gifts; America Ferrera for showing TV viewers that “Ugly,” is beautiful; Monika Mantilla, CEO of Altura Capital, for her success in finance and personal mission to unleash the economic potential of Latinos in the U.S. and a posthumous award to Jamie Escalante for his transformative teachings in math and science.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards were established in 1987 by the White House to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month.  The Hispanic Heritage Awards are considered the highest honor for Latinos by Latinos and what makes the program unique is how cultural superstars stand alongside physicians, educators, public officials, community and business leaders, and even young leaders in celebration of their achievements.
